Farewell card for a coworker
A farewell card from the whole team, in their own voices.
Someone handed in their notice, and you've got until their last day to organize something. Send the team one link. Everyone tells a memory of them out loud in two minutes, and they leave with a board of stories and voice messages from the people they worked with.
Made for two weeks' notice
A paper card needs someone to buy it, pass it round and chase the people working from home. A link needs a minute.
- Day 1
Set it up and post the link
Say who's leaving, add a line about them for Athena if you like, and pay once. Post the link in the team chat, and send it to anyone they worked closely with in other teams.
- This week
People add a memory when they have two minutes
They can do it between meetings or on the train home. Athena, Story Den's interviewer, asks for one memory and a follow-up or two. Then they can leave a short voice message. You see the memories as they come in.
- Last day
Give them the board
Open it at the leaving drinks or the farewell call, or send the link with your goodbye message. The best lines are at the top, and Play all runs through every voice message.
Why a board instead of a card
It goes where they go
A card gets packed in a box with the desk plant. A board is a link they can open on their first day somewhere new, when they miss the old team.
The whole company can join
The person who sat next to them, the team they helped every month, the colleague in another time zone: anyone with the link can add a memory.
Easier than writing
Most people freeze over a card and write "Good luck!". Asked for one memory out loud, they tell the story instead.
Nothing to chase
Nobody has to find the card on someone's desk. You can see who has added a memory and post one reminder.
One payment. No subscription.
The board, its pictures and every voice message are theirs to keep.

Questions
They leave on Friday. Is that enough time?
Usually, yes. Setting up takes about a minute and each memory takes about two, so people can add theirs between meetings. Send the link as early in the week as you can and post one reminder the day before.
Can it stay a surprise?
Yes. The person leaving only sees the board when you give them its link. Keep them off the thread where you share the link for adding memories, because anyone with that link can see the memories so far.
Can people from other teams add a memory?
Yes. Anyone with the link can add one, up to the board's limit: 8 people on the $19 board, 50 on the $29 one.
What if the person leaving works remotely?
Send them the board's link on their last day, or share your screen in the farewell call and press Play all to hear the voice messages together.
What if I change my mind?
If nobody has added a memory yet, we'll refund you in full within 14 days of paying. Just email contact@storyden.io. The details are in our terms.
