Group birthday card
A birthday card from everyone who loves them, in their own voices.
For Mom's 70th, your partner's 50th, or a grandparent turning 90. Send one link to the family. Everyone tells a memory of them out loud in two minutes, and on the day they get a board of stories and voice messages from the people who know them best.
The stories nobody gets round to telling
At a birthday dinner, people raise a glass and say something nice. The real stories, like the summer at the lake or the drive home from the hospital, rarely get told. Asked for one memory, with two minutes and nobody watching, people tell them.
A card everyone signs
Happy birthday!! 🎂
Love you lots – Ben
Have a great day!

A Story Den birthday board
The first winter after the move, money was tight and the furnace kept quitting. Mom "turned it into a camping trip." Sleeping bags in the living room, cocoa on the stove, ghost stories with a flashlight. "We thought it was the best week of the year. It was years before we realized why."
Ben her eldest
How it works
- 1
Make the board
Say whose birthday it is, add a line about them for Athena if you like, and pay once. You get one link for the whole family.
- 2
Everyone tells one memory
Brothers, cousins, old friends and grandkids each open the link, add their name and talk for about two minutes. Then they can leave a short voice message for the birthday person.
- 3
Open it on the day
Every memory as an illustrated watercolour card, the best lines at the top, and all the voice messages in a row. Send the link with your birthday message, or play it at the party.
Why it works for a birthday
Family who can't be there
The cousin overseas and the sister who couldn't get the time off can be on the board too. All they need is the link.
Every generation can join
Nobody has to write anything, so the grandparent who hates texting and the eight-year-old who can't spell yet can both tell a story.
Made for the big ones
A 60th or an 80th deserves more than a card. A board holds the stories from every decade, told by the people who were there.
Their voices, kept
The voice messages stay on the board. Years from now, they can still press play and hear everyone who joined in.
One payment. No subscription.
The board, its pictures and every voice message are theirs to keep.

Questions
Can it be a surprise?
Yes. The birthday person only sees the board when you give them its link. Share the link for adding memories with everyone except them, because anyone with that link can see the memories so far.
Some of the family aren't in the group chat. How do they join?
The link works anywhere: text it, email it, or read it out over the phone. They open it in their phone's browser, with no app and no account.
Can grandparents and kids add a memory?
Yes. Apart from their name, there is nothing to type: they talk, and Athena asks a follow-up or two. Younger children can do it with a parent holding the phone.
How do I give it to them on the day?
Send the board's link with your birthday message, or open it at the party and press Play all to hear every voice message together. The link stays theirs, so they can come back to it.
What if I change my mind?
If nobody has added a memory yet, we'll refund you in full within 14 days of paying. Just email contact@storyden.io. The details are in our terms.
